Dea: You make an interesting point, and it seems quite valid. I had not really thought about it in that way. Men and women do things differently. I agree that there is not a lot of logic to love. But, it is a gift. When I said "the year rule, it was more intended as a guideline. I think I should not write it in stone, but, based solely on my experience... If I did not allow enough time between relationships, to heal or to get over the broken heart, or to pull my head out of my butt, any or all that are applicable... The next relationship suffered.

Like most people, I am kind of learning as I go, and I simply realized that I apparently need more time than most to get my head on straight again. Two years seems like a nice number. But I am flexible. What I am shooting for, however, is for the next relationship to be of a more permanent nature, God willing.

Aren't you, in a way, expecting failure by setting a time frame?

I could fall in love in one glance were the man my true fallen angel or it could slowly grow over years. I could break someone's heart or he mine but the level of attachment and my emotional state would determine
the healing, not the calendar.

You're wanting to apply logic and rules to an experience that is beyond logic. Love and the healing of a broken heart each take whatever time is necessary.

Have successfully rid myself of 7 computers, and 10 boxes of files, a dresser, some clothes, cleaning supplies, books, magazines,some oddball knickknacks, 5 drawers full of video cassettes and DVDs, a set of skis... (please don't ask when the last time I skied was!)a bunch of dishes, and a toaster oven. Still planning on losing a television, vcr, dvd, entertainment center, a couple computer monitors, and more clothes. Feeling really good about the accomplishment.

Something that we all must deal with in our lives. None of us are immune. You have to find your own way out of the maze, there is no quick and easy path.

My experience has shown that we have to be happy and in love with ourselves and our lives, before we can give and share that love with others. We can't expect to find happiness from others. That involves 'need' and 'expectations'.....which is never a good thing.

Dear anonymous, Thank you for your one word assessment of what was a difficult blog for me to write. Interesting.... that one word, by itself, conveys volumes of words unspoken. Words that had they been spoken would likely reflect a heart full of pain. Perhaps it would be telling if you had not left so much unsaid. I cannot help but feel that something in my blog triggered a much more emotional response than the one word comment reveals. Anyway, feel free to visit anytime. I am just glad that someone actually reads this blog occasionally.
